Shojiesque

Shojiesque is a name we created to describe any door that has a shoji like feel to it but conforms more to Western standards. Shojiesque doors are usually 1-3/8" Or 1-3/4" thick and have a style and rail (frame)configurations that can be used with conventional lock and hinge hardware and come in standard sizes.

The Shojiesque doors like shoji are clean and simple. Square stop details with no extra frills. Often times they will have a grid insert like shoji. Most Shojiesque doors are made of vertical grain fir. Oak is also a popular choice. These doors can be ordered prehung and bored for locks.
